love song

“To praise God fully we must suppose ourselves to be in perfect love with God, drowned in, dissolved by that delight which, far from remaining pent up within ourselves as incommunicable bliss, flows out from us incessantly again in effortless and perfect expression. Our joy is no more separable from the praise in which it liberates and utters itself than the brightness a mirror receives is separable from the brightness it sheds.” C. S. Lewis

Allow the fibers of your heart to be drowned in the unquenchable love of the Lord. Let the revelation of His perfect love disperse in your spiritual veins, upsetting every area of your life that is out of line with the Spirit. “He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord.” Psalm 40:3-4a May the core of your being explode into a joyous melody, a love song of praise to the King who has captured you with His sweeping of affection. His display of devotion far exceeded any attempt of selfish love ever conquered by man. “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” Psalm 28:7 Your life can be a composition, a pure harmony that stirs all of heaven to wonder. May your life be a beautiful melody that causes the angelic host to pause and listen. Every word we speak, every action carried out, every thought birthed in our minds that is glorifying to the Lord are music notes, praise that peals through Heaven’s gates, even stops Heaven’s choir as they lean and tune into the music of your life. Your life is singing a melody, from the moment you wake, to the moment you drift off to sleep, every moment of sleep-you have an audience of One who is walking with you in every pause, crescendo, slur, high note, low note of your life. “I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.” Psalm 57:8b-11 We are daily sending a composition-a message- to the world, let it not be one of confused and annoying noise, or a tune that gratifies the flesh but a melody that unashamedly declares the glory and radiance of the Lord. Let your life be the very song that leads those who are lost to the Greatest Composer, a Savior who longs to impart to them a melody of their own.

Love Song
By: Jason Morant

Where can I go
Where can I run from You
You're everywhere

You know all my thoughts
You see through my ways
And still You come to me
And so I sing a love song to You

From Heaven above
Earth down beneath
Your love rains down on me

You know all my thoughts
You see through my skin
And still You come to me
And so I sing a love song to You

You walk on waves
You run with clouds
You paint the sky for me to see
Your majesty
Your majesty is why I sing
And this is a love song for You

Yes it's all for You
In my life a love song to You
Everything I do
In my life a love song to You

he is my portion

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

A heart’s passion and fiery zeal can grow dim. The flicker can fade. The strength of a heart can become exhausted due to questionable circumstances that are out of one’s control. The thoughts of one’s own heart can become clouded due to pain, distrust and broken promises made my fallible people like you and me. We get tired and just plain worn out. We find it harder to trust, to believe in someone’s words…we long to see action. Sometimes, we put mankind on a pedestal and when they fail us, then that’s how we view the Lord. Our perception of Him is skewed by men and women, like us, who don’t forgive, turn a cold shoulder, ignore completely or just simply walk away; we then look at the Father and question Him when He asks us to trust Him through a difficult season. This cycle must stop.

The strength of one’s own heart should not depend on what mankind can offer us on a silver platter or how they treat us. Our identity, even the security of who we are, should by no means be founded on the drifting feelings of whether we think we are accepted or not by others. The very fibers of our heart’s core need to be held in place by the hands of our Maker. The Lord, He alone, should be our portion and the strength of our hearts. The essence of who we are should reflect that our delight, passion, zeal and love for life come from the unshakable truth of knowing that we are His and He is ours.

You Are My Shield
By: Hillsongs United

I will bless the Lord forever,
And I will trust Him at all times.
He has delivered me from all things,
And He has set my feet upon the Rock.

I will not be moved, and I'll say of the Lord:
You are my Shield, my Strength, my Portion, Deliverer,
My Shelter, Strong Tower, my very present help in time of need.

Whom have I in heaven but You.
There's none I desire beside You.

You have made me glad, and I'll say of the Lord:
You are my Shield, my Strength, my Portion, Deliverer,
My Shelter, Strong Tower, my very present help in time of need.

My very present help in time of need.

heaven's rain

Let it rain, let it rain. Open the floodgates of Heaven and let it rain. ~Michael W. Smith

"Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." Hosea 6:3

Rain. As I sit and watch the raindrops fall and listen to the lightness and calmness of their descent, I’m captured by the Creator of the Universe. In the same way that earth’s surface is the rain’s destination; we, as human beings, are the only ones who can receive, feel and experience the fresh pure rain of our Lord. Our heart’s soil is the very surface on which Heaven’s rain is longing to seep into. It is destined and purposed to cleanse, remove unclean particles, to soak up dryness and create life, bring about lushness, quench the soul’s thirst, and to rejuvenate the wilting heart.

Our hearts, our inner sanctuaries, need to be consistently washed and renewed by the Lord’s cleansing rain. For it says, in Hebrews 10:22-23, “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” To do so, we need to remove our umbrellas of apprehension, throw off our rain coats, kick off those rain boots and allow the Holy Spirit to drench us with the rain of His purifying presence. Let’s lift our faces to Heaven’s floodgates and allow our Savior to soak us. To let every drop that hits our heart’s soil bear the fruit of righteousness. As Isaiah 45:8 states, "You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the Lord, have created it.” After we’ve allowed His rain to wash out our inner sanctuaries, the reward will be the rainbow of His righteousness radiating through us, we will then be a beautiful reflection of the One we love and serve. Every decision made, every thought taken captive and every word carefully spoken will be crisp colors that will sparkle and attract the world to something they are thirsting after, and that is the freedom we will have found with being able to dance in Heaven’s rain! You and I will be able to testify, that even though cleansing can be painful, the outcome far exceeds the throb of the moment.

When we force ourselves to step out from the shadows and allow the rain to fall directly onto our heart’s top soil that is when we will be able to bear the fruit of righteousness, that is where spiritual growth will occur and that is the place when our lives can have a ripple effect on those around us. Just as the rain drop hits a bed of water, or a small puddle and causes many ripples to transpire, the same with our lives.

The rolling heavy clouds shift in the overcast blanket above, our bare feet hit the pavement; we have come to the place of decision of either going forward or turning back to go for cover. Which will it be? Will we leave the comfort of our dark sheltered dwelling? Or will we run and abandon ourselves to the steady cleansing rain, His purifying rain that can not only instill in us a joy unfathomable, a hope irresistible but also a love that is so deep that we are not able to reach its end. Rest assured, it is worth it.

Let it Rain
By: Michael W. Smith

Let it rain, let it rain.
Open the floodgates of Heaven

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad
Let the distance shores rejoice
Clouds and thick darkness surround him
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne
A fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side
His lightning lights up the world
The earth sees and trembles
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord
Before the Lord of all the earth
The Heavens proclaim His righteousness
And all peoples will see His Glory

We want to see Your Glory, God!
Do you want to see His Glory?
Lift your voices, lift your hands!

Let it rain, let it rain.
Open the floodgates of Heaven
